The Panoramaweg
A slightly up and down 40 minute loop from the apartment. Walk towards the station and turn right up the road beside the smaller river. After the road turns right and crosses the river, take the footpath right 50m further up the road. This traverses along the hillside and takes you south of the village before descending to the road. Cross the road, train track and river and turn right back to the campsite. Cross the river after the campsite to get back to Haus Flora.
Schallisee loop (flat)
Walk towards the station and turn left to cross the river by the campsite. Turn right and follow the path to Schallisee. Walk around the Schallisee and cross back over the river at the first bridge to return to the north end of the village and follow the road back to Haus Flora.
To Täschalp
There are two walking paths up to Täschalp. Both are steep. The trail east from the church is fairly direct. The trail up from the north end of the village takes you to the Europaweg. Turn right and follow this into Täschalp.
It is a 700m ascent to Täschalp and the hike takes approximately 2-3 hours.
To Randa
A flat (slightly down hill) walk on gravel roads and footpaths either side of the river. Well signposted but various paths leading to the same place. 30 minutes
The Charles Kuonen bridge
Follow the signs uphill from the Randa church. Cross the 500m suspension bridge and descend the other side. 2-3 hours round trip.
For a longer outing, take the path towards Täschalp at the north end of the village. Turn left at the Europaweg and follow this to the bridge. 4-5 hours round trip.
To Zermatt
Cross the river at the campsite and turn left. Follow the road, then path, up to Zermatt. 1.5-2 hours.
Alternatively, walk (or taxi) to Täschalp and walk the Europaweg into Zermatt.
